More than 254,000 children’s pool toys were recalled in the United States after authorities determined they could pose an impalement risk to children while being used in the water.

According to USA TODAY, Joyce US Corp announced the recall of 254,000 Sloosh diving sticks.
The measure was communicated on June 11 through a report from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, or CPSC.
According to the agency, the toys exceed the allowed compression limit.
This means that, under certain circumstances, they could cause serious injuries if a child falls on them.
The report explains that the risk increases especially in shallow water.

In that scenario, children could land on the hard plastic sticks and suffer puncture wounds.
As of June 11, the company said it was not aware of any injuries related to the recalled product.
The recall specifically affects the diving sticks included in a 30-piece pool toy pack.
The affected model number is 40041.
This identifier appears printed on the back of the box next to the barcode.
It can also be found directly on each of the diving sticks.
The Products Were Sold for Several Years
The recalled toys are cylindrical and made of hard plastic.
Each stick measures approximately 18 centimeters long and less than 2.5 centimeters in diameter.
Consumers could find them in several colors, including red, yellow, green, and orange.
According to the recall information, the products were available on major e-commerce platforms.
These include Amazon, Temu, Shein, Walmart.com, and Target.com.
Sales took place between February 2019 and October 23, 2025.
Package prices ranged between $17 and $22.
The broad sales period explains the high number of units affected by the measure.
Authorities recommended that consumers carefully check whether they own any of the products included in the recall.
What Consumers Should Do
The main recommendation is to immediately stop using the affected diving sticks.
Owners should throw away the recalled products.
They should then take a photo of the sticks in the trash.
The image must be sent by email to Joyce US Corp.
According to the report, once the evidence is received, the company will provide redesigned replacement diving sticks.
These replacements comply with current federal regulations.
The company also opened a customer service channel to answer questions related to the recall.
Consumers can call 800-781-3067 Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time.
The report clarifies that the recall does not affect the other toys included in the package.
The diving rings, torpedoes, squids, funny-faced octopuses, diving balls, and diving fish continue to be considered safe for play.
Authorities urge consumers to review products purchased in recent years and follow the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid possible risks during recreational pool activities.
