Jaime Munguía made good on his promise of a «total Mexican war» against Canelo Álvarez during the Cinco de Mayo weekend, but the result was not in his favor.
Although Munguía (43-1) suffered the first loss of his career, Álvarez (61-2-2) retained his undisputed super middleweight belt with a unanimous decision.
Judges Tim Cheatham, Steve Weisfeld and David Sutherland scored the fight 117-110, 115-112, and 116-111 respectively.

Peso Pluma and Canelo Álvarez were together in Las Vegas

However, it seems the two stars were just joking around, as they have a long-standing friendship.
What appeared to be a conflict turned out to be Peso Pluma and Canelo pretending to spar.
They were in the dressing room, just a few minutes before Canelo entered the ring to face Munguía, when this scene was recorded.
Peso Pluma’s presence was not only a highlight for Canelo but also for his children, who had the opportunity to take photographs with the singer, according to infobae.
