911 recordings from Miami-Dade County emergency services have revealed new details about the response at blogger Perez Hilton’s home following an apparent self-harm incident during a TikTok livestream.

USA TODAY reviewed several hours of audio from Miami-Dade emergency dispatchers.
According to the recordings, dispatchers warned that the individual might be armed and required medical treatment for his injuries.
The first 911 calls were received shortly before 7:00 p.m.

The reports began after the 48-year-old celebrity blogger was seen apparently engaging in self-harm during a TikTok livestream.
Later that evening, on August 4, emergency personnel were dispatched to Perez Hilton’s residence.
The home is located in the Westchester neighborhood of Miami, about 10 miles west of downtown.
Emergency Call Remained Active for Nearly Four Hours
According to records reviewed by USA TODAY, emergency crews initially provided basic life support.
That level of care is below advanced life support, which is typically used in medical emergencies such as heart attacks.
The incident was classified as a «possible suicide.»
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies then instructed emergency medical personnel to remain near the residence while law enforcement managed the situation.
Emergency medical teams waited outside as deputies worked to resolve the incident.
The dispatch audio indicates that the emergency call remained active for nearly four hours.
It also shows that emergency crews returned to the home shortly before 11:00 p.m.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office explained the procedures used during the incident.
«In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively engaging in self-harm, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication,» the agency said in a statement.
Perez Hilton Hospitalization Confirmed as Family Requests Privacy
At approximately 10:40 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched back to the residence.
Around 11:00 p.m., responders reported they were working with law enforcement to enter the home and provide assistance to Hilton.
The podcast host was ultimately transported to a hospital to receive medical treatment.
One day after the incident, on August 5, Perez Hilton’s family released a public statement.
The family thanked the public for the outpouring of support following the news.
«So many of you have reached out to express your concern for Perez, and we are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers.»
The statement also confirmed that the blogger remained under medical care.
«We can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care, and at this time our priority is his well-being.»
