The Pentagon revealed on Thursday the attack on three Iranian nuclear facilities.

It was carried out under Operation Midnight Hammer, and was the result of 15 years of strategic planning, technological development, and military drills.

The offensive included precision bombings and the use of advanced bunker-busting technology specifically designed to penetrate Iran’s underground fortifications.

This was reported by EFE.

Pentagon Reveals Iran Attack Was Planned for Years

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, explained that the operation involved 125 aircraft, including B-2 bombers armed with bunker-busting bombs weighing over 13,000 kilograms.

It also included the launch of Tomahawk missiles from a submarine targeting the Isfahan facility.

The Fordow and Natanz facilities, located underground, were attacked with weaponry developed over more than a decade.

Caine described the mission as “the Super Bowl” for the pilots involved, many of whom, he said, “ate, breathed, and dreamed” of this moment.

The bombs were designed with unique fuse configurations to maximize penetration. “Each weapon had a precisely calculated angle and impact,” he emphasized.

Fordow: Priority Target and Symbol of Success

One of the key targets of the attack on Iran was Fordow, a deeply buried complex protected with reinforced concrete.

U.S. forces aimed directly at its ventilation shafts, successfully breaching Iran’s defensive barriers.

Caine presented images of the impact and explained that, due to the nature of the weapon, no crater is visible on the surface, but deep internal damage was inflicted.

“All six weapons in each shaft worked as planned,” he stated, denying rumors of a failed execution.

Hegseth Accuses the Press of “Downplaying” the Success

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth defended the operation against Iranian nuclear facilities as a “resounding success” and criticized leaked intelligence reports suggesting that the damage to Iran’s nuclear program would only delay it by six months.

According to Hegseth, those reports were amplified by media outlets “hostile to President Trump.”

“If you want to know what happened in Fordow, grab a shovel. There’s no one down there,” he concluded.
