According to preliminary information, the events occurred on the night of Tuesday, December 2, when a fight broke out inside the Hernández family home.
Josué David Hernández reportedly intervened to defend his sister from her partner, who had allegedly assaulted her moments earlier.
The confrontation escalated quickly until the aggressor—already identified by authorities—attacked Hernández with a machete.
Despite the severity of his injuries, the athlete was unable to receive medical attention in time and died at the scene.
