The search for Amaia Landaeta, a six-year-old girl who was rescued alive after the June 24 earthquake in La Guaira, has left her family desperately seeking answers after losing track of her during a medical transfer.

According to information shared by her relatives, Amaia was found alive in the Punta de Mulatos area and taken to Pariata Hospital, where she was last seen before being transferred unconscious to an unknown destination.

Since then, the child has not been registered at any hospital, clinic, or emergency shelter where her mother has searched over the past several days.

Her mother, Ana Cecilia Machado, has visited multiple medical centers and emergency shelters established for earthquake victims but has been unable to locate her daughter.

Family members say the search has also expanded to temporary shelters and other facilities where earthquake survivors may have been transferred.

In the missing person notice shared on social media, Amaia is identified as a six-year-old girl who «was rescued alive after the June 24 earthquake.»

Family Urges Public to Share Only Verified Information About the Missing Girl in Venezuela

Amaia’s relatives have asked the public not to spread rumors or unverified reports, saying misinformation has complicated the search efforts.

According to the statement released by the family, false leads have consumed valuable time while they continue searching for the child.

«Her mother, Ana Cecilia Machado, has searched hospitals and shelters without success and asks that only verified information be shared, as false reports have made the search more difficult.»

The family also urged anyone with information to verify it before sharing it and to communicate directly with them through official channels.

Family Confirms Where Amaia Is Not Located

Relatives also addressed several rumors circulating online regarding Amaia’s possible whereabouts.

According to information confirmed by the family, Amaia is not at any of the following locations:

  • Caraballeda Golf Course Relief Center.
  • University Clinical Hospital.
  • Los Teques Hospital.
  • Central University of Venezuela (UCV) shelter in Caracas.

They also clarified that reports claiming Amaia is originally from Tejerías are false.

The missing person flyer describes Amaia as: «A very bright, intelligent, and outgoing little girl who can easily provide the names of her parents and family members if asked.»

The family emphasized that the only person authorized to take custody of Amaia is her mother, Ana Cecilia Machado, and asked that any information regarding the child’s whereabouts be shared only through official channels.

They urged the public not to spread rumors and to contact them only with verified information that could assist in locating her.

The missing person notice also explains that extensive searches were previously conducted at hospitals and clinics throughout Caracas without success. An earlier report suggesting Amaia had been transferred to the Caraballeda Golf Course relief center in La Guaira was later determined to be incorrect.

As the search for this Venezuela earthquake survivor continues, her family is asking the public to share her information responsibly and help circulate her photograph and the official contact numbers in hopes that Amaia will safely return to her loved ones.
