Through his official Instagram profile, Cortés revealed that during his trip to Venezuela, he was diagnosed with dengue.

He expressed concern about not having used insect repellent, noting that dengue is transmitted through the bite of infected mosquitoes.

The presenter, formerly a part of the ‘Suelta la Sopa’ panel, conveyed optimism, mentioning that he is starting to feel better.

However, he also acknowledged that he still experiences weakness and occasional loss of balance when walking, following his diagnosis.

At 43, Cortés highlighted the medical care he received in Venezuela and is looking forward to his return to Miami, where he plans to rest and complete his recovery.

On his Instagram account, the presenter shared a video in which he discussed the illness he contracted while on vacation.

‘After several days of experiencing high fever, severe headaches, weakness, and dizziness, I was tested today and diagnosed with dengue,’ he revealed.

‘Tomorrow, I will return to Miami and take extra care to follow all the medical instructions for a complete recovery,’ the Colombian stated in the video’s description.

‘Of course, I conclude this vacation in Venezuela with immense joy and gratitude for the excellent treatment I received and for all the incredible experiences I had,’ he added.

«I hope to return soon. All the best to you, and thank you for the many messages of encouragement and for all your prayers. Blessings,” he concluded his message.

In the video, Juan Manuel Cortés is seen lying in bed, resting after undergoing medical tests.

“It’s the first time this has happened to me; it was really careless on my part, because mosquitoes are always biting me everywhere,” he admitted.

“That’s why in Miami, I always use insect repellent to prevent getting bitten,” shared the presenter.

«But when I came to Venezuela, I forgot to bring insect repellent. I’ve been here for 16 days and have had an incredibly good time,» he emphasized.

«However, the last few days have been tough because the symptoms of dengue are quite severe. I think the worst is behind me now,» the Colombian added.
