The incident took place in Mantua, where the suspect lived with his mother, Graziella Dall’Oglio.
The woman had died at age 82 around three years earlier.

After her death, the suspect allegedly wrapped the body in sheets and placed it inside a sleeping bag.
For three years, he collected the pension without authorities detecting the woman’s absence.
The deception intensified when his mother’s identity document expired.
To renew it, the man decided to impersonate his mother by imitating the deceased woman’s physical appearance.
Clerk Detects Irregularities During the Process
The suspect applied makeup, cut his hair, and used his mother’s accessories.
However, the public employee became suspicious after noticing physical traits that did not match those of an elderly woman.
The mayor reported that the clerk noticed “hair on the nape” and “beard stubble under the makeup.”
Police were alerted and began monitoring the suspect closely.

Officers observed that the supposed elderly woman was driving a car without a license.
They also discovered that Graziella had no medical records or appointments for years.
Upon reviewing old documents, authorities found signatures inconsistent with the woman’s handwriting.
Neighbors stated they had not seen her in a long time, confirming suspicions surrounding the Italy pension fraud case.
