Conceptual and symbolic fashion dominated the red carpet this Thursday at the 25th anniversary of the Latin Grammys, but not everyone fared well on social media.
While artists like Ángela Aguilar and her husband Christian Nodal, Marc Anthony and his wife Nadia Ferreira shone brightly, others faced heavy criticism.
This was the case for Francisca Lachapel, who appeared in a white chiffon dress that many described as a «mosquito net.»
«Our @francisca is so excited she even lost her voice… but not even that stops her from looking regal,» wrote Despierta América about their host on Instagram.

More Fashion From the Red Carpet.
In addition to Francisca Lachapel, other celebrities walked the red carpet at the Latin Grammys.
This included Mon Laferte, Jay de la Cueva, Alejandro Fernández, Ali Stone, and María Becerra, who showcased their projects through their outfits.
Kany García, Nathy Peluso, Ángela Aguilar and her husband Christian Nodal, Marc Anthony and his wife Nadia Ferreira opted for classic styles.
So did Univision hosts Amara La Negra and Jessica Rodríguez, as well as Anitta and Danny Ocean.
«I chose something fresh, elegant, and calm, representing the moment,» said Nathy Peluso to EFE, who had already won three Latin Grammys before the final gala began.
Dressed in a pale pink mermaid-style gown, the Argentine artist emphasized her characteristic duality with one green eye, one black eye, and makeup trending toward the no-makeup look.
«Part Tradition, Part Risks» at the Latin Grammys
Kany García, meanwhile, walked the outdoor carpet at the Kaseya Center in Miami in a black dress that could be described as classic.
«I chose this dress because it represents what we embody in Latin music: part tradition, part risks,» the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter told EFE.
Venezuela Represented
Tradition was also reflected in outfits inspired by the typical costumes of Colombia, Venezuela, and the indigenous tribes of the United States.
This included timeless ensembles like the black uniforms worn by the Payasitas Ni Fu Ni Fa, redesigned for the occasion but maintaining their colorful wigs and cheerful makeup.
«The most special part of our look is the Venezuelan stole because we always represent our country,» said the members of the children’s group.
The Boldest Outfits at the Latin Grammys
Many of the boldest outfits featured vibrant colors, such as the look by Chilean multi-award-winning artist Mon Laferte.
She wore a striking ensemble adorned with raised anatomical hearts and a large central eye, complemented by a headpiece echoing the motif and thigh-high boots with a Scottish design.
Reinventing the Classics
Anitta opted for a white suit that reimagined the trend of wearing lingerie in public.
Karol G’s Beachy Mood
Karol G embraced Miami fashion with a long aquamarine dress inspired by beachwear.
Becky G, Sexy in Netting
In a similar vein, Mexican-American artist Becky G stunned in a white netted outfit with silver appliqués and a cape, making her look like a goddess emerging from the water.
David Bisbal Shines at the Latin Grammys
Seeking to beat the heat, David Bisbal wore a wine-colored suit, adding a Miami touch by forgoing the shirt.
Oh Angelita!
María Becerra and Ángela Aguilar embraced the luxury style of the 1920s and 1930s golden era of cinema, with gold tones and sheer details.
Dominican Beauty at the Latin Grammys
That traditional evening dress style, with very sexy elements, was also embraced by Argentina’s Emilia and the Dominican Yailin La Más Viral.

Among the most traditional looks was Mexican artist Majo Aguilar, who wore a white gown with a long train and a thin black belt, in a princess style with minimal and understated accessories.
