The Carolina Flores murder case in Mexico continues to shock the public as new details emerge, revealing that her husband, Alejandro Sánchez Herrera, allegedly remained for an entire day inside the apartment where the crime occurred before notifying authorities.
The information was reported by journalist Carlos Jiménez, who stated that, according to the widower’s own account, he stayed with the body “trying to feed the baby,” as the infant was still breastfeeding.
The revelation has sparked public outrage, as the crime occurred on April 15, and it was not until April 16 that Sánchez went to the prosecutor’s office accompanied by his lawyer.
So far, there has been no official explanation as to why the husband waited nearly 24 hours before reporting the murder of the former beauty queen, Carolina Flores Gómez.
Husband’s Account and Family Doubts

According to statements presented on the program C4 En Alerta, Alejandro claimed he stayed in the home out of concern for his child.
Reyna Gómez Molina, Carolina’s mother, said her son-in-law explained he feared that if he were immediately detained, the baby would be placed in foster care.

“He thought that if he was taken into custody, the baby would be sent to a shelter. He even recorded videos to show how to feed the child,” she stated.
Meanwhile, her daughter’s body remained inside the apartment—something she directly questioned her son-in-law about.
The Phone Call That Confirmed Her Death
Carolina’s mother recalled the moment she received the call that changed her life.
“On Thursday at 1:35 p.m., I got a call from my son-in-law. I asked, ‘How is Caro? How is Caro?’ And that’s when he told me she was dead.”
In desperation, she said she began screaming and heard a female voice in the background, prompting her to ask if it was her daughter.
“I told him, ‘Tell me the one speaking is my daughter’… He said, ‘No ma’am, I’m at the prosecutor’s office and they’re calling me. My mother shot her.’”
