After the second run-over, only a large bloodstain was left at the scene while the vehicle continued moving forward and fled.
Minutes later, the man’s body was found further ahead, apparently lifeless, after being dragged by the bus’s wheels.
Witnesses were stunned by the brutality of the act, which went from an accident to what citizens perceived as a deliberate homicide.
The driver’s escape further fueled outrage in the community, which is demanding immediate justice.
Position of Metroplús and Authorities
Metroplús, the system to which the bus belongs, issued a statement about the incident.
According to the entity, the driver decided to move forward because he felt his safety was at risk due to the crowd’s reactions.
They also claimed that he was trying to prevent greater danger to other pedestrians gathered around the vehicle.
Nevertheless, authorities opened an investigation to determine whether the driver’s reaction could be considered self-defense or aggravated homicide.
