A parent was suspicious of this

Alissa McCommon has been under investigation since August when a parent complained about the 38-year-old teacher’s inappropriate behavior.

«The victims befriended McCommon by playing video games with them and then interacted through mobile phone social media applications.»

«Which led her to allegedly send inappropriate photographs and request sexual relations with the victims,» ​​the Covington Police Department wrote in a statement.

The investigation was undertaken by different security forces, since McCommon had worked in two schools: one in the city of Tipton, and another in Covington, Tennessee.

McCommon contacted one of her victims

After initial interviews with the victims, the teacher was arrested on September 8 and taken to the Tipton County Jail.

Charged with rape of a child, but posted $25,000 bail and returned home on parole.

It didn’t take long for McCommon to violate his release agreements and contact one of her victims and authorities arrested them a second time.

In court, prosecutors presented evidence of the result of the teacher’s inappropriate actions: she had become pregnant by her victim.

“I will raise this baby and love him and do it alone.”

«I will raise this baby and I will love him and I will do it alone,» she is heard saying in a recording presented in court from a call that was made, as prosecutors explain, from an unknown number to the child.

«I tried to tell you.” the woman is heard saying at the end of the recording that she begs that he not tell anyone that she contacted him.

Given the evidence presented by the prosecution, charges of coercion of a witness, aggravated stalking and harassment were added to the former teacher’s file.

So far «there is no evidence that the alleged behaviors occurred on the school campus,» Covington police clarified in their statement.

Police ask victims to report

The only formal accusation against the former teacher dates back to 2021. Therefore, the authorities ask the students report if they were victims.

“Not only are McCommon’s actions egregious, but the CPD is also concerned about this apparent violation of its conditions of bail”said Covington Police Chief Donna Turner.

The authorities are concerned that the detainee made contact with other former students.

For now, Alissa McCommon will remain in prison while they decide whether or not to revoke her parole.
