The former attorney general is also expected to testify Friday before the House Oversight Committee.
The hearing is part of the investigation related to Jeffrey Epstein, an issue that has generated constant pressure for the Trump administration.
JD Vance Backs Pam Bondi’s Political Return
Vice President JD Vance publicly reacted to Bondi’s new role within the government.
“Pam has been an enormously valuable asset to the president’s team,” Vance told CNN.
The vice president added that he is “delighted” Bondi remains involved in matters important to the administration.
The statements seek to show political support for Bondi at a time marked by public scrutiny and health problems.
Her return to an official role comes as she remains a figure close to Trump’s political circle.
Handling of the Epstein Case Drew Internal Criticism
In the months before her dismissal, Trump expressed frustration with Bondi’s work leading the Department of Justice.
According to CNN, the president believed Bondi was not acting forcefully enough against political adversaries.
The then-attorney general also faced criticism over her handling of files linked to Jeffrey Epstein.
That issue became a constant problem for the administration and for Trump himself.
The president faced questions because of his past friendship with the convicted sex offender.
The controversy surrounding the Epstein files increased political pressure on Bondi before her official departure from the Department of Justice.
Now, while undergoing medical treatment and recovering from surgery, Bondi remains connected to the Republican political sphere and to investigations that continue attracting national attention.
