DEADLY SHOOTING AT HOME. A man killed his uncle after a fight over who would sleep on the couch that night. Apparently, the young man didn’t like the fact that his uncle had recently moved into his mother’s house and ended up expressing his anger with bullets.
The Arizona Police Department reported that, on July 17, around 10:30 p.m., its officers responded to an emergency call about a shooting at a home in the Phoenix area. When they arrived, they found a tragic scene.
Man kills his uncle after a fight over who would sleep on the couch

Dajoun Ty Miller, 22, not only waited for officers outside the house with his hands up, he confessed to them that he had shot someone inside and disassembled the gun, court documents in the case reveal. The young man was immediately placed under arrest.
When the officers entered the house, they confirmed the young man’s confession and found another man shot on the sofa. It was Denzell Williams, Miller’s uncle. The man was shot multiple times by his nephew and died at the scene, authorities confirmed.
Terrible scene in the living room

Court documents also revealed that investigators found more than a dozen shell casings at the crime scene near Williams’ body and that they also located parts of the gun that the shooter disassembled around the house and yard.
When they began to investigate what could have triggered this level of violence, the family told the authorities that Miller had been living in his mother’s house for a few months and that he was upset when his uncle moved in.
What happened?

That night the young man sent a message to his mother saying that he wanted to sleep on the sofa and that he would fight with his uncle for the spot. The family heard a heated argument downstairs and gunshots, so they went downstairs, and that’s when they saw Miller standing over Williams as he shot the gun.
Family members pleaded with him to stop, but the 22-year-old continued to fire, court documents show. Now, he faces an accusation of first-degree murder, according to Arizona Family.
Three versions of what happened?

Although the family’s story is illuminating, Miller told investigators three different versions of what happened. He first said that he was angry with his uncle because he disrespected him and ignored him when he spoke to him. Later, he said that he didn’t really remember what had happened.
Finally, Miller adjusted his story again, telling investigators that his uncle had threatened to kill the family in their sleep. The suspect denied having mental health problems. However, a family member told authorities that the young man suffered from hallucinations and mental problems although he had not been diagnosed with anything. The family also told authorities that, just a month ago, in the middle of an argument Miller had pointed a gun at his sister.
