- Iran sends urgent warning to the UN after Trump’s threats
- Trump threatens civilian infrastructure
- U.S.-Iran tensions rise
Tensions between the United States and Iran are escalating with direct threats against civilian infrastructure, while Tehran demands immediate action from the United Nations.
Iran denounces direct threats against civilians
According to the EFE agency, Iran’s mission to the UN called on the organization this Sunday to act “now” in response to threats from U.S. President Donald Trump.
The appeal follows new messages from the U.S. leader regarding possible attacks against the country.
“Once again, the president of the United States openly threatens to destroy infrastructure essential for the survival of the civilian population in Iran,” the mission stated on the social media platform X.
Iranian representatives were reacting to a post by Trump in which he mentioned targets such as “power plants” and “bridges.”
From Tehran’s perspective, these statements cross a dangerous line.
According to Iran, they constitute explicit threats against civilians.
Trump intensifies ultimatum over the Strait of Hormuz
President Donald Trump reiterated his position in a message posted on his social media platform Truth Social.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day, all in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the damn strait, you crazy people, or you will live in hell,” he wrote.
The president recently extended the ultimatum for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The deadline is set to expire on April 6 at 8:00 p.m. Washington time (00:00 GMT on April 7).
Trump has insisted in recent days that he could turn the Islamic republic into “hell.”
He has also warned about sending the country back to the “Stone Age.”
The threats remain at the center of the diplomatic escalation.
Iran warns of possible war crimes

Iran’s mission to the UN described Trump’s message as a “direct and public incitement to terrorize the civilian population.”
It also stated that it constitutes “clear evidence of intent to commit war crimes.”
“If the conscience of the United Nations were alive, it would not remain silent in the face of the open and blatant threat of the warlike president of the United States,” they said.
Iran accused Trump of attempting to drag the region into a prolonged war.
“The international community and all states have a legal obligation to prevent these atrocious acts of war crimes. They must act now. Tomorrow will be too late,” the mission added.
The context includes recent decisions by the UN Security Council.
In March, the body approved a resolution condemning Iranian bombings of Middle Eastern countries.
However, the text does not mention the United States or Israel.
In that same session, a proposal presented by Russia was rejected.
The initiative sought for “all parties” to end the offensive without naming any country.
Diplomatic tensions continue to rise as the ultimatum deadline approaches.
