Gamaliel Hernández is a Hispanic from North Carolina who has just been arrested and charged with one of the most terrible crimes in the world: child sexual abuse.

According to Johnston County authorities,

But that is not the worst. According to police, Zuammett Velasco, the girl’s mother, was present at the home when the outrage occurred and apparently endorsed it.

The Johnston Sheriff’s Office received the complaint of this alleged violation on August 20, and just as they were about to start investigating, Hernández and Velasco somehow found out and fled.

They were two intense months in which they were looking for them to be held accountable to justice, but they could not find them and now they know why.

The couple fled to the other side of the country and for weeks they remained well hidden in a house in Indio (California), until someone finally dared to expose them, thanks to which they were arrested.

His arrest occurred on October 28 and this week both defendants were extradited to North Carolina to answer the charges they face.

However, despite the seriousness of the accusations they face and the fact that they have already tried to evade justice once, the state judge in charge of this case granted them bail of $ 600,000 each.

Until the close of this edition, neither of them had been able to cover the amount of the bail, for which they were still behind bars in the local prison.

The story of Hernández and Velasco is nothing new. In fact, I assure you that similar cases are happening right now and perhaps they have not come to light because the victims fear that their mothers will not believe them and that they will end up against them for denouncing their partners.

Terrible. The home of a child should be the safest place for them, but unfortunately it is not always that way.

I have heard of cases of women who in the end confessed that they became blind and deaf when they found out about the abuse against their daughters, just because they did not have to be left alone since their husbands were the ones who covered all their needs at home.

By God, how long will we have to continue living such cruelty? Whenever something like this happens I ask myself this question, but I have never gotten an answer.
