- Sold Across Multiple States
A well-known chocolate brand announced a voluntary recall of a collection of bonbons after detecting the possible presence of undeclared nuts in the packaging.
The measure affects the Bette’s Bake Sale line in 6, 12, and 24-piece boxes, specifically lots 260414 and 260417.
The company warned that individuals with nut allergies or severe sensitivities could face serious reactions if they consume these products.
The recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and no illnesses have been reported so far.
Distribution of the Recalled Chocolates in Stores and Online Sales

The products were distributed between April 14 and April 20, 2026, in physical stores located in Asheville.
They were also available through the company’s official website, with shipments sent to dozens of states across the country.

Among the states where the products were sold are California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, Georgia, and North Carolina, among others.
The bonbons were packaged in paper boxes, and each set included a printed tasting guide to identify flavors.
Allergen Labeling Error
On April 20, 2026, a team member notified the company about an error in the tasting notes leaflet.
The printed material did not correctly mention the presence of nuts as an allergen in one of the chocolates.
The pecan praline bonbon was incorrectly identified, as it was swapped with the peach cobbler flavor in the guide.
This means that a consumer relying only on the printed information could accidentally consume a product containing nuts.
Affected Products and Recommendations
The voluntary recall includes the 6-piece (2.5 oz), 12-piece (5 oz), and 24-piece (10 oz) boxes.
The affected lots have expiration dates ranging from June 22 to June 30, 2026, depending on the product, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The company recommends that consumers with nut allergies who purchased these products return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or discard them.
