Authorities have announced the arrest of the suspect in the Irving shooting that left two dead inside a Chick-Fil-A restaurant.
Oved Bernardo Mendoza Argueta was booked into jail around 3:16 a.m. this Thursday.
The 37-year-old man is charged with capital murder and has an immigration hold.
The document states that the suspect entered the restaurant armed, opened fire on two people, and fled the scene.

It is also mentioned that the suspect’s wife works at the location, witnessed the incident, and was able to identify the suspect with certainty.
One of the victims was identified as Patricia Portillo, according to the legal document.
Irving Police Department spokesperson Anthony Alexander provided details of the case at a press conference.
He stated that around 3:50 p.m., authorities arrived at the restaurant and found two people dead.
Although the investigation is in its early stages, they believe the victims were targeted and not random.
The motive for the shooting in the Chick-Fil-A restaurant is unknown, and it is unclear if a robbery was involved.

Authorities added that they will review surveillance camera footage but cannot disclose what is on it at this time.
The suspect has been identified as Oved Bernardo Mendoza Argueta.
