César Gastélum killed during livestream

Influencer and content creator César Gastélum was shot and killed Tuesday night while livestreaming from the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant in Culiacán, Sinaloa.

According to preliminary reports, two men riding a motorcycle approached the vehicle where Gastélum was sitting. One of them allegedly shot him in the head before both suspects fled the scene.

The shooting occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Enrique Sánchez Alonso Boulevard, in the Desarrollo Urbano Tres Ríos district, just a short distance from the offices of the Sinaloa State Attorney General’s Office.

Gastélum was livestreaming alongside two collaborators, who were not physically injured but reportedly suffered severe emotional distress after witnessing the attack.

The cameras used for the livestream, along with the restaurant’s surveillance system, captured the moment of the shooting.

According to authorities, the suspects were riding a white, red, and black Honda dual-sport motorcycle.

Both men were wearing helmets and fled immediately after shooting the influencer. As of now, no arrests have been reported.

The Sinaloa State Attorney General’s Office has opened a homicide investigation and continues collecting evidence to determine what happened.

Suspects Were Seen Minutes Earlier

Another video released after the attack appears to show the suspects’ motorcycle passing through the area just minutes before the shooting.

During the livestream, one of Gastélum’s companions can be heard warning about the motorcycle riders and expressing concern, although the group remained at the location.

César Gastélum was a highly active content creator across multiple social media platforms.

He had more than 577,000 followers and over 22 million likes on TikTok.
On Instagram, he had more than 116,000 followers.
He also created content on YouTube and regularly livestreamed on Kick.

His content included comedy sketches, entertainment videos, gaming, reaction videos, music, and lifestyle vlogs.

César Gastélum’s Murder Adds to Growing List of Cases in Sinaloa

With the murder of César Gastélum, at least 10 influencers and content creators have been killed in Sinaloa in recent years, according to figures cited by local media.

Authorities have not officially disclosed a motive for the crime or announced a specific line of investigation.
