Seismic activity in the California region has once again made its presence felt with a recent tremor that shook the area.
The earthquake, with a magnitude of 2.5, occurred at 18:54:54 (UTC-05:00), with the epicenter located 5 km northwest of Walker, CA, at a depth of 5.9 km.
This was not the most recent seismic event recorded globally.
Indeed, an earthquake of magnitude 5.7 rattled the Arequipa region this afternoon, according to RPP.
ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE IN AREQUIPA
The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the sea, 41 kilometers south of Yauca, as reported by the Geophysical Institute of Peru.
This event marks the second significant tremor affecting the region within the day.

The Geophysical Institute of Peru also reported a magnitude 5.7 earthquake that shook the Arequipa region this afternoon.
The epicenter of this tremor, felt at 15:46 hours, was located in the sea, 41 kilometers south of Yauca, Caravelí province, at a depth of 38 kilometers.
According to reports from the IGP, the earthquake in Arequipa was felt with an intensity of IV on the Mercalli scale in the locality of Yauca.
The Directorate of Hydrography and Navigation of the Peruvian Navy assured that the event did not generate a tsunami alert.
This is the second significant tremor recorded in Arequipa during the day, following an earlier seismic movement of magnitude 5.0 in the same southern region.
The seismic activity in both California and Arequipa underscores the constant vigilance and preparedness necessary in the face of these phenomena.
