A mother of six daughters was detained by immigration authorities after attending a court hearing in Leander, Texas.

Her eldest daughter, Aaliyah Duarte, publicly shared what happened through a heartfelt message and a fundraising campaign.

“Three days ago, my mother went to court to resolve an immigration case that had happened a long time ago,” Aaliyah began.

Upon arriving at the courthouse, the woman witnessed another lady being detained by ICE while crying.

Her mother became overwhelmed with fear, according to Aaliyah Duarte, afraid she might be next.

“When it was her turn to speak with the judge, this massive man was standing next to my father waiting for the judge to dismiss the case so they could take my mother out of the courtroom and into immigration custody,” she wrote.

Once the judge dismissed the case, the woman walked toward the elevator with her husband.

“They had gone to the elevator, and three men were waiting at the scene. She broke down crying because she knew what was coming for her.”

Downstairs, she was handcuffed and taken away in a minivan by immigration agents.

“She had a very strong anxiety attack and didn’t know how to handle the situation — she was terrified,” Aaliyah Duarte wrote.

Aaliyah deeply mourned what happened and questioned the fairness of the system.

“It’s really upsetting to see how the justice system failed my mother and took her away from six beautiful daughters, a very loving husband, and a very worried mother.”

The family says the case for which she was detained is several years old and that the situation has been devastating.

“Our family is in great disbelief, and we are very sad because she was taken from us. All we want is to get our mother back.”

Aaliyah Duarte expressed the pain of seeing her younger sisters cry and her father broken.

“My heart breaks seeing my sisters depressed and crying, worried about when mom will be home.”

Aaliyah Duarte also described her father’s suffering: “It hurts to see my dad unable to see and hug his wife and tell her how much he loves her.”

The family is asking for financial assistance to raise the necessary funds for her release.

“We’re not asking for much, just a little help to bring her home.”

“We seriously need it. Anything helps — we are always grateful for anything,” Aaliyah insisted.

The post ends with a message of hope and love for their mother.

“We want nothing more than to reunite our family safe and happy again.”

“We love you, Mom, we miss you, and we’re going to do everything possible to bring you home. Thank you.”

The case of this mother detained in Leander, Texas, reflects the deep human impact of immigration policies, especially when they affect loving, well-established families.

The story told by Aaliyah Duarte is not only a cry for help but also a call for empathy and solidarity.

As her family faces days of uncertainty and pain, their message is clear: they want their mother back — safe and surrounded by the love of her daughters, her husband, and her own mother.
