Michigan student dies on school trip to robotics competition
According to USA Today, the student, whose identity has not been released, was from Lake Orion High School, north of Detroit.
Police are investigating the death as a suspected suicide.
«It is with deep regret that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community,» Superintendent Ben Kirby said in a statement.
It was reported that this tragic death occurred on Friday, April 19.
The school is supporting students following the loss
The principal of the Michigan high school also spoke about the sad news.
«We will be ready to meet the needs of our students and staff Monday morning,» Dan Hass stated.
As mentioned above, this tragic event happened on Friday, April 19, making it an upsetting weekend for everyone.
According to USA Today, the 16-year-old boy is believed to have taken his own life, although an autopsy is pending.
