The scrambled egg product contains milk, which is not listed on the carton label.

This was flagged by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

Michael Foods was alerted to the issue when several cartons of the whole egg product were found missing.

After an investigation, the error was discovered, and a voluntary recall was issued for approximately 4,620 pounds of liquid egg products.

The products were shipped to restaurants in Alabama, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, and Utah.

Michael Foods reported that the products may be in institutional refrigerators and restaurant kitchens.

Michael Foods’ institutional clients include schools, hospitals, and workplace cafeterias.

However, it remains unclear if any of these clients were affected by the incident.

According to the Daily Mail, the affected products were packaged in 32 oz. cartons labeled and dated June 11.

So far, no illnesses or allergic reactions due to the labeling confusion have been reported.
