Donald Trump’s ex-wife, Marla Maples, has expressed openness to helping in the former president’s re-election campaign in any way, including serving as his vice president.
Maples, the second wife of the presumptive Republican candidate, stated that the entire Trump family supports his 2024 campaign in a recent interview with The Evening Standard.
Notably, she defended the former president when asked about his criminal conviction.
She said she did not believe «a crime was committed» in response to a jury finding him liable for the sexual abuse of writer E. Jean Carroll.

Maples laughed off claims from sources suggesting she has ambitions to be Trump’s running mate but did not rule out the possibility.
«Someone would have to ask my ex-husband about that,» Maples told The Evening Standard, adding, «I’m open. I’m open to any way I can serve.»

The couple married in 1993, shortly after the birth of their daughter Tiffany, and divorced in 1999, according to USA Today.
Maples mentioned she had forgiven Trump for their past disagreements, citing the challenges of marriages, «especially when you put them in the media.»
She previously revealed that she warned Trump against launching a White House bid while they were married in the 1990s.
«It’s something we thought about doing in the ’90s, but I knew it would be hard on the kids. It takes a toll, and Donny, Ivanka, and Eric (Trump’s three older children with his first wife) were much younger then,» Maples said in a 2018 appearance on NBC.
Currently, Trump considers some of his children and family members as close political confidants.
During his administration, Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, worked as an advisor to her father, and her husband, Jared Kushner, served as an assistant and senior advisor to the president.
Neither received a salary for their White House roles.
This year, Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, was named co-chair of the Republican National Committee.
Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., has contributed ideas about who should join his father on the Republican ticket this November.
Maples has always been an enigmatic figure in Trump’s orbit, maintaining a relatively low profile since their divorce.
