Germany left behind the doubts of recent World Cups and debuted with a resounding victory over Curaçao in Houston, in a match that ended in a rout and absolute dominance by the European team.
After its recent failures, the German team sends a strong signal at the start of the tournament and appears poised to advance with authority.
Germany Sets the Tone From the Start

The team led by Julian Nagelsmann came out with intensity from the first minute and quickly made a difference on the scoreboard.
Felix Nmecha opened the scoring with a powerful shot from outside the box after a combination with Florian Wirtz, making Germany’s attacking approach clear.
During the opening minutes, Germany produced multiple attacks and shots, showing its superiority against an opponent that struggled to keep up the pace.
Curaçao briefly managed to react with an equalizer thanks to Livano Comenencia, which created some surprise in the match. However, Germany’s response was immediate.
Rout Built With Authority and Depth

Before halftime, Germany regained the lead with goals from Nico Schlotterbeck on a header and Kai Havertz from the penalty spot.
In the second half, that dominance turned into a decisive rout. Jamal Musiala extended the lead just after the restart, while Nathaniel Brown and Deniz Undav continued punishing the opposing defense.
The end of the match was crushing: Undav scored again and Kai Havertz completed his brace to seal the final result with a seventh goal that confirmed Germany’s superiority.
Curaçao Resists, but It Is Not Enough

Despite the scoreline, Curaçao showed moments of intensity and managed to create a few chances, although without enough precision to compete on equal terms.
The Caribbean team had isolated opportunities, but the difference in quality and depth proved decisive. Germany controlled the tempo of the match and finished playing comfortably.
Germany will look to maintain this level in its next group-stage matches, while Curaçao will try to recover quickly to stay alive in the tournament.
