Alejandra Valles Valenzuela was shot to death in Arizona after a strange incident that raises many questions for the authorities. The Homicide Division of Tucson Police Department (TPD) revealed the details of the crime. So far there is no suspect and no witnesses have come forward.

The incident, in which 36-year-old Alejandra Valles Valenzuela was killed, also left another man badly wounded by gunfire. However, the man is in critical condition in a hospital and has been unable to provide details about the brutal shooting.

At 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, several residents in south Tucson called 911 to report a shooting. TPD troopers were dispatched to the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Bilby Road to investigate the incident.

TPD officers arrived at the scene and found a woman lying on the ground in a parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Patrol officers immediately requested the presence of the Tucson Fire Department (TFD).

At a housing complex at the corner of Campbell Avenue and Bilby Road, officers found a Hispanic male who was also badly wounded by multiple gunshot wounds. When TFD paramedics arrived on the scene there was nothing they could do for the woman and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman’s identification revealed that her name was Alejandra Valles Valenzuela. The man was rushed to a hospital in critical but stable condition. Authorities have not released the name of the injured man or his relationship to Alejandra Valles Valenzuela.

After the death of Alejandra Valles Valenzuela was confirmed, TPD Homicide Division officers went to the scene to conduct an initial investigation into the bizarre attack. Officers learned that the couple arrived at the scene in a pickup truck.

Alejandra Valles Valenzuela and her companion were at 6200 South Campbell Avenue when they were stopped by a person as they were leaving in the van. Alejandra Valles Valenzuela and her companion got into an argument with the unknown person.

At one point the argument between Alejandra Valles Valenzuela, her companion and the unidentified man escalated to shouting and insults. Tragedy ensued when the person who confronted the couple pulled out a gun and fired several shots at the van.

After firing the round of bullets, the person who came to confront Alejandra Valles Valenzuela and her companion fled the scene. For some reason, the badly injured couple drove the van to the corner of Campbell Avenue and Bilby Road. Perhaps they were looking for help.

When Alejandra Valles Valenzuela and her companion reached the corner they got out of the van. However, they collapsed due to the severity of their injuries. In the distance, the sirens of the TPD patrol cars could already be heard as they came to investigate the shooting reported by the neighbors.

Now the TPD Homicide Division agents are reviewing the security footage from the businesses and houses on Campbell Avenue and Bilby Road to see if any of them show anything that could identify Alejandra Valles Valenzuela’s alleged killer.

Alejandra Valles Valenzuela called herself «La Güera Valles» on social media. She also indicates that she is in a romantic relationship. However, the report from the officers of the TPD Homicide Division does not specify whether the injured man was her partner.

The TPD Homicide Division is asking the community if anyone has credible information about the identity and whereabouts of Alejandra Valles Valenzuela’s alleged killer, to please contact the nonprofit Pima County Crime Stoppers at 520.882.7463. All calls will remain anonymous.

The shooting death of “La Güera” is another instance of gun violence in the United States. The non-profit organization National Archive on Gun Violence,reported that so far in 2022, 2,618 people have already been shot to death.

As of Sunday, January 23, 2022, of those people shot to death in the United States, a total of 1,100 were killed and 1,518 committed suicide. 1,959 people were injured. The country has already experienced 25 mass shootings in which at least four people died in the same crime.

TPD Homicide Division officers had a busy year in 2021. According to the department’s own statistics, officers had to investigate 93 shooting homicides, which was the most violent year in the city’s history.

Tucson, Arizona, is a city located in the southern part of the state with a population of 550,000. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 41 out of every 100 inhabitants in Tucson are Hispanic and almost all are immigrants or children of immigrants of Mexican descent.
