President Donald Trump’s visit to Beijing was marked not only by diplomatic meetings and bilateral agreements.

The trip also produced unexpected moments, viral videos, and scenes involving technology figures that partially overshadowed the political agenda.

Among them, Elon Musk once again captured public attention after appearing alongside his son, X Æ A-Xii, during an official meeting with Chinese authorities.

The entrepreneur, CEO of Tesla, attended the meeting between Chinese Premier Li Qiang and American business leaders as part of Trump’s state visit.

However, the presence of young X Æ A-Xii ultimately dominated much of the conversation across social media platforms and international media coverage.

The appearance immediately reminded many observers of the scene months earlier inside the Oval Office following Donald Trump’s election victory, where the child also attracted widespread media attention.

This time, however, the context was entirely different: a diplomatic summit between China and the United States amid ongoing commercial and technological tensions.

Images of the child accompanying Musk during the business meeting quickly spread across Chinese and American social media platforms.

Many users interpreted the moment as yet another example of the billionaire’s unconventional public style.

But Elon Musk’s attention-grabbing moments did not stop there.

The entrepreneur also became one of the day’s most discussed figures after being filmed spinning around on the steps of the Great Hall of the People while recording a 360-degree video with his cellphone.

AI-generated memes dominate social media

Trump’s visit to China was accompanied by a wave of artificial intelligence-generated content that went viral even before the American president officially arrived.

One of the most widely shared manipulated videos showed Jensen Huang jumping like a superhero to cling onto the landing gear of Air Force One after allegedly joining the delegation at the last minute.

Other digitally manipulated videos and images depicted Trump, Xi Jinping, Elon Musk, and Tim Cook in casual Chinese settings.

Some images showed them inside a traditional hutong sharing meat skewers, Tsingtao beer, and cigarettes in a relaxed atmosphere far removed from diplomatic protocol.

The quality of the AI-generated content surprised many users, who noted that distinguishing between authentic images and fabricated digital creations is becoming increasingly difficult.

Heat and pollution also shaped Trump’s visit to the China summit

The official welcome ceremony took place beneath a thick layer of pollution covering Beijing.

PM2.5 pollution levels reportedly reached around 55 micrograms per cubic meter, far exceeding recommendations established by the World Health Organization.

The visit also coincided with unusually high temperatures for mid-May.

Temperatures climbed to 33 degrees Celsius, causing the bottled water distributed during the Xi-Trump summit to unexpectedly trend on Chinese social media.

Users across Chinese networks began searching for the water brand on e-commerce platforms after spotting it in official event photographs and broadcasts.

Official banquet combined Chinese tradition and Western touches

The state dinner included several iconic dishes associated with Beijing cuisine.

Among them was traditional Peking duck, along with grilled pork buns known as baozi — a food closely associated with Xi Jinping after he was photographed eating them at a popular restaurant in 2014.

The menu also included lobster in tomato soup and Western-style desserts such as tiramisu, ice cream, fruit, and shell-shaped pastries.

Another detail attracting attention to the China summit involved the seating arrangements.

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was seated next to his Chinese counterpart Dong Jun, while U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer shared a table with Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao.

Cameras captured relaxed conversations among officials who normally meet in far more rigid diplomatic settings.

One of the most surprising aspects of the visit was Donald Trump’s public demeanor.

The American president maintained a far more reserved tone than during many of his previous international appearances.

Trump limited his comments primarily to opening remarks during official meetings and the state banquet.

He also significantly reduced his activity on Truth Social, where he usually posts frequently.

Meanwhile, other members of the delegation also generated viral moments

Marco Rubio was filmed carefully examining the ornate ceiling decoration inside the Great Hall of the People.

The arrival of Air Force One also attracted major attention among Chinese users, some of whom described the presidential aircraft as “a flying White House.”

Among the most widely shared clips was footage of a Chinese soldier remaining perfectly motionless while the presidential plane slowly taxied across the airport runway.
