After years of rumors about the origin of the song ‘Simplemente Amigos’ by Ana Gabriel, who has now confirmed she has a wife, the singer clarifies if it was dedicated to Verónica Castro.

In a recent concert, the Mexican artist exploded in anger, tired of being questioned about whether the song was for the legendary actress.

For decades, it was rumored that the two had a secret romance but never came out of the closet due to the harsh judgment of society at the time towards gays.

Now, with more acceptance, Ana Gabriel finally decided to share that she has a wife and is happier than ever.

Despite the previous rumors, the singer took a moment during a recent concert to clarify if ‘Simplemente Amigos’ has a dedication.

«This song I made because God gave it to me… and I made it for you, for you, for that one, for those who are over there,» she began saying temperately.

«It has no dedication, and I am not ashamed that they say I composed it (for Verónica), but what is, is,» Ana Gabriel added.

«It’s a big lie that they say I composed it for her, so case closed, and I say this because I am truly exhausted,» she clarified.

But Ana Gabriel emphasized: «I do what I damn well please. I was born of a woman, and that woman gave me freedom, gave me life, gave me a voice.»

«My parents gave me education, and here I am clarifying for the first time in so many years, something that has me fed up,» she said angrily.

«That song will carry me from one generation to another, so thank you for loving it, thank you for singing it,» she concluded before performing ‘Simplemente Amigos.’
